Green Chile Stew
Speaking of green chiles, the annual batch of Hatch chiles hit our local stores this weekend. Here is the batch of green chile stew that I'm cooking up today:
I'm not sure at this point whether it's going to kill me or make me stronger. My hands are burning from slicking the chiles, so I know they're hot.

I'm so sensitive to spicy things that chilies terrify me a bit, especially if I have to slice them because I always forget and rub my eyes/nose afterwards...but your green chile stew looks delicious.
The stew turned out to be pretty hot. I had to take some time between bowl #1 & bowl #2 to let my mouth cool down. BUT, I got the craziest chile high. I got the most euphoric feeling after my mouth cooled down. I was downright giddy almost. I've never noticed a reaction like that before, but perhaps it goes a long way toward explaining why I love green chiles so much!
I haven't been able to replicate the reaction to the same extent with the leftovers. I think maybe I'm holding back and eating it too slowly to get the necessary initiating burn.
