Close Encounters of the Dog Kind

Wow, my wacky news stories just can't compete with the real thing lately, what with astronauts wearing urine-soaked diapers and Anna Nicole's wheels coming completely off. I did find this little nugget though. I guess I can quit wearing deodorant. Prepare to be aroused, ladies! Maybe that's my problem, I've been too effective at covering up my stink.

Anyway, last weekend in addition to eggbeater Jesuses, I got to see my dog-nephews and cousins.

This is my sister's dog. He loved looking out the window that looks out onto the back yard.

His brain is so small. Like a peanut.

He is frequently in motion.

These are my aunt & uncle's dogs.

They're pretty happy-go-lucky.

I love the quizzical head-tilt.

OK, so I'm sitting there minding my own business, and this dog roshamboed me. Actually I was sitting on the edge of an ottoman because seating was somewhat scarce, and the dog was beneath me lying on his back while I scratched his belly. When I stopped scratching him, the dog, in his struggle to get up, gave me a mighty kick right in the danglers. I must have jumped about 5 feet and I said "OWWW!" When everyone asked me what happened I had to stifle my natural impulse to say "The dog just kicked me in the nuts!" since my 14 and 16 year old cousins were in the room. They're quite sheltered. The incident still makes me wince.

Today's birthdays are brought to you by Walkers Marmite Crisps.

your 14 and 16 year old cousins probably know what nuts or danglers are? right? i mean, they hear all sorts of things at school. loved all the doggie phtoos! what fun you must have with THEM, despite the unfortunate event. though, thanks for the heads up, i feel like my vocabulary expands each time i visit your blog.

I am so opposed to the Marmite potato chips. That is just so incredibly wrong. I admire your self control around your cousins. Usually, when I am around sheltered/young people I lose all control over my mouth and say the most awfully foul things. I don't know why. I am jealous of your dog time, even if it came at a price. Danglers. Tee Hee.
Oh, and I wouldn't attempt the sweat approach if I were you.

Wait - wasn't Ziyi Zhang on your crush list way back??

I know nothing of this marmite potato chip thing.

The dog photos.. sigh. I heart them.

And the Anna Nicole stuff.. I'm sorry, I maybe the only human who has been sad for her for a long time (I know I have been in my family - as she's been on the dreaded N. short list) but it's breaking my heart.

I am completely sad about Anna Nicole. I wanted her to just change her life and show everyone. I'm all for the underdog. But alas, it's not be. Not a great autobiography or anything. In a Hard Rock casino, poor lass.

Love the dogs. I even love the little one. Just looks spunky. I forgot about Frankie Goes name was Holly. And I have always loved Keeping Up. Clive is a great name too. Oh and why in the sweat aticle do they have to show some guy drenched? I don't think that was what the study meant.

Was that the Holly from FGTH? I used to have one of those gigantic RELAX shirts back in the grand ol' 80's, frag that I was.

Sweat: Love potion #9, baby!

Dangling man parts: try wearing a sports cup more often, at least around dogs!

Anna Nicole: I'm the most sad for her 5 month old...then again if she were to continue with her screwy life, maybe its best she won't be an influence in her life. Dunno.

I love the dogs. Sorry about your berries but at least your twig was avoided.

I'm a big "Keeping up appearances" fan. Happy belated birthday Clive.

Well. I just laughed & laughed & laughed some more, then shed a tear or two. Gawd! You had me cracking up. I don't often hear about danglers anymore. And some of the others comments were just as funny; twig and berries! OMG
Regarding Anna Nicole - I'm glad that I'm not the only one saddened by this. I do have empathy for her and that darling baby girl! What will become of her?
