Dust In The Wind

The weather here today is super-freaky. It's extremely windy (about 39 mph) and this afternoon dust started blowing in. The wind keeps making my power go out intermittently. Pretty soon all of West Texas will be in my yard. Here are some pictures of the dust. Keep in mind there are no clouds at all.

There's something you don't see in the weather report every day - "blowing widespread dust"

I thought these first 3 pictures were dramatic. Uh, yeah, not so much...

I saw those dust storms on the news. We're supposed to get snow, sleet and slush in the next 24 hours which SUCKS! My kid has been off school this past week and I'm pretty certain that tomorrow school will be cancelled ~ motherpussbucket.

You mean those photos aren't with any filter or anything - the sky was really that weird tan color?? Damn! That's freaky!

Yep, no filter. It was freaky, and 2 hours later it was clear and sunny again!

The blowing dust is freaky. It was very windy and rainy here today and unfortunately it occured mostly during my morning run.

Happy birthday Billy Zane. I always think of Zoolander when I think of Billy Zane.

Well the snow has started here. The dust storms are more disturbing to me than the fog. Does this happen alot? Maybe I should re-think living in the desert one day.

I've lived around here for 30 years, and in that time we've had maybe 4 big dust storms. This one may take the cake though.

It's been like that here. It reminds me of when you were here and like, the whole world caught on fire when we went to see King Kong. Remember? And we were debating whether or not we needed to saturate Nana and Poppy's entire house and land with water - or even leave Faith and Nate alone? CRAZY!!!

Crazy weather. It's the end of the world I tell ya!!!! I'm making one of those sandwich board signs!!!

Okay, not really - but it sounds like fun.

I was just talking to Jos about those crazy people and do they exist only in movies. We have never seen them, and he is always in the city too. They do yell and preach, but never a sandwich board. I want a sandwich board dammit from a crazy end of the world person.
